Ant colony optimization algorithm based on Lévy flight transfer rule for solving traveling salesman problem

Abstract

This paper proposed an ant colony optimization algorithm based on Lévy flight transition rule for the TSP. The algorithm combined the transition rule based on Lévy flight and ACS, and formed a dynamic weight hybrid transition rule, which could effectively help the algorithm escape from local optima and enhance the global search ability. In addition, the random multi-path optimization 3-opt strategy increased the diversity of the algorithm by randomly extracting some paths and combining them with the current optimal path. When the algorithm stagnated, it used the pheromone average random reset strategy to reset the pheromone concentration on the path, which helped the algorithm escape from local optimal. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm keeps the error within 3% compared with the optimal solution when dealing with multiple TSP instances of different scales, proving that it has excellent convergence and ability to avoid falling into local optima in the TSP problem.
