Collaborative similarity embedding recommendation model incorporating consistent social relationships

Abstract

To address the challenges of cold-start prediction and data sparsity for new users in recommendation systems, this paper proposed a collaborative similarity embedding recommendation model incorporating consistent social relationships(CSECSR). Firstly, the model propagated and aggregated graph embeddings with equal weights through a warming-up layer. Secondly, it sampled social relationship neighbors with consistency and aggregated these relationships using attention mechanisms. Finally, the model predicted the rating by computing the inner product of the final embedded values of the user and the item, and optimized the model using a loss function that combined BPR loss with adaptive margin and similarity loss. Compared with other representative recommendation models on Ciao, Epinions and FilmTrust datasets, the experimental results show that the proposed recommendation model outperforms other models significantly in terms of prediction error, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed recommendation model.
