Image compression and encryption algorithm based on fractal coding and LIC chaotic system

Abstract

With the wide application of digital images in the network, its problems in security, transmission, storage and other issues need to be solved urgently. The proposed image compression encryption algorithm provided a new security scheme for fractal coding. Fractal image coding had the characteristics of high reconstruction quality and high compression ratio, and the unpredictability and initial value sensitivity of chaos were suitable for image encryption. The effective combination of chaotic encryption and fractal image coding could give full play to their advantages. In addition, it constructed a new chaotic system through coupling enhancement, which improved the problems of low complexity and limited chaotic range of seed mapping, and the algorithm adopted a encryption structure of scrambling and diffusion simultaneously to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. Experiments indicate that the proposed algorithm has large key space, strong key sensitivity, correlation coefficient of adjacent pixels and information entropy close to ideal values, can resist a variety of common attacks, and it has faster encryption speed, which meets the needs of practical applications. In terms of compression performance, it achieves a higher compression ratio than other schemes while satisfying the reconstructed visual quality.
