Event log merging based on time difference constraints

Abstract

In the cross enterprise or cross system environment, the process data is usually recorded in a separate event log, which makes it impossible to mine the complete end-to-end execution process. Therefore, this algorithm proposed to merge the logs only by using the event name and timestamp attributes. Firstly, it obtained the process models of the two systems and the merge model according to the cross system followed dependency of activities, then merged the processes of the two systems one-to-one and sorted them according to the timestamp and left the merge processes consistent with the merge model path. Then it obtained one-to-one instance pairs from these processes, that was, the only main process could be merged with the only sub process. Then, it mined time constraints between activities from these instance pairs for consolidation of remaining logs, and repeated the last two steps until all logs were merged or couldn't be merged one-to-one. The algorithm is tested on the real event log, and achieves satisfactory merging effect and high precision and recall.
