Vehicle scheduling at unsignalized intersections based on enhanced Dijkstra algorithm

Abstract

Aiming at the problems of long waiting time and low traffic efficiency when vehicles pass through intersections without traffic lights, this paper proposed an optimized scheduling scheme based on the enhanced Dijkstra algorithm. This paper took intelligent vehicles as the research object. Based on the griding of intersections, considering the direction weight, safety weight and priority weight of vehicle in each grid comprehensively, it developed the principle of dynamic grid weight assignment to search the path with the shortest travel time. The enhanced Dijkstra algorithm improved the Dijkstra algorithm and rea-lized the shortest path under dynamic weight. It could flexibly adjust the trajectory of each vehicle according to the actual vehicle environment. The simulation results show that the enhanced Dijkstra algorithm scheduling can reduce the total travel time of vehicles while keeping the number of conflicts low. Under certain conditions, compared with the Dijkstra algorithm, the ave-rage vehicle parking delay is reduced by 1.5 s and the conflict rate is reduced by 13%.
