Research on edge cache strategy based on regional user demand perception

Abstract

Aiming at the problems of current edge joint cache strategy with high transmission energy consumption and insufficient perception of user needs in smaller areas, this paper proposed an edge cache strategy based on regional user demand perception which combined with the differences on popular content and popular features across the entire network and regions. First, it estimated the potential request probability of a regional user based on the long-term and short-term interests of the regional user and the existing network popularity information. Then, it selected the cache content and the cache priority based on the demand of the regional user. Finally, considering the imbalance between the location of the base stations in the area and the distribution of user requests, this paper proposed a joint placement strategy with the least energy consumption in the area cache. Simulation results show that compared with the traditional cache strategy, the proposed strategy has certain improvements in the request hit rate, byte hit rate and cache energy consumption.
