Fingerprint template generation algorithm based on adaptive projection

Abstract

Aiming at the problems of low accuracy and poor security in existing fingerprint template generation algorithms, this paper proposed a fingerprint template generation algorithm based on adaptive projection. The algorithm vertically projected the distance between the pairs of effective minutiae points onto the adaptive circle and quantized the projected vector to obtain a bit string. In addition, in order to enhance the security and privacy of the data, the proposed algorithm performed XOR and random index scrambling transformation on the bit string to finally generated a fingerprint template. The experimental results in the database FVC2002 DB1 and DB2 show that the proposed algorithm has higher performance of accuracy and security than the related algorithms.
