Consensus protocol of Hegselmann-Krause opinion dynamics based on common neighbors and its stability analysis

Abstract

How to enhance consensus of multi-agent system is an important problem in its consensus research. This paper proposed a modified Hegselmann-Krause opinion dynamics consensus protocol based on common neighbor, in which case common neighbors was used to adjust the influence weight between different agents. This paper also proved that the system converged to stable equilibria by the theory of Lyapunov energy-like function and analyzed the formation of opinion clusters. The relationship between the number of opinion clusters and the length of initial opinion interval was investigated by incremental analysis. Simulation results show that multi-agent system with the protocol converges to a smaller number of opinion clusters. The proposed protocol can effectively improve the connectivity of switching network and thus enhance consensus and can provide theoretical support for the control and optimization of opinion dynamics model.
