Application of neural network compensation algorithm in MEMS-based attitude measurement

Abstract

Aiming at the attitude measurement error in the attitude measurement fields based on micro-electro-mechanical sensors, this paper developed a neural-network-based compensation algorithm to improve the attitude measurement accuracy. It utilized the publicly available datasets of a micro-aircraft performing real flight in the indoor environment. This paper established an attitude compensation model according to the nonlinear mapping of BP neural network, which was about the outputs of the micro-electro-mechanical sensors and the attitude estimation errors. It could predict the compensated errors of roll, pitch and yaw angles through the outputs of sensors. Experimental results show that the proposed neural network compensation algorithm can greatly reduce the attitude measurement errors. The neural network plays a certain role in improving the accuracy of the attitude measurement.
