Study on load-induced robustness of interdependent networks

Abstract

This paper constructed a scale-free interdependent networks with three coupling modes, and introduced the load of the nodes. It studied the robustness of the interdependent networks by computer simulation. The study found that, compared with random coupling and disassortative coupling, the interdependence networks had the strongest robustness in the assortative coupling. Nodes tolerance coefficient and sub-networks assortative coefficient had a significant impact on the robustness of the interdependent networks. In order to make the interdependent networks more robust, the nodes tolerance coefficient should be increased and the sub-networks assortative coefficient should be reduced. In addition, the increase of the coupling strength can also improve the robustness, and the interdependence networks under the random coupling is more sensitive to the change of the coupling strength.
