Abstract

The problem of pilot contamination caused by pilot multiplexing has become a bottleneck for its performance improvement in massive MIMO systems. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a pilot allocation scheme based on user location. In this scheme, the uplink power control method ensured that signal power of different users to the base station of their own cell were equal. In the case of power control, it defined the pilot contamination intensity of the interfering users to the target user as the ratio of the distance from the interfering user to the base station of interference cell to the distance of target cell. It allocated the same pilot to two users of different cell with less pilot contamination between users. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the system capacity, reduces the performance gap between users and reduce the pilot contamination between users.
